Original Vocals or Productions

This playlist includes the original vocals of mine some 31+ years ago, along with the recent covers since then.

These are songs I contributed my production skills to.

The first song, Someday You'll Be Mine, was written by a college friend of mine. It's an interesting short song that doesn't follow the traditional verse-verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus formula which was so prevelant in the 80's. The original vocals was sung by my college friend - and he was able to grab 5 hours of studio time. I helped with production and the played the piano track. It was a real accoustic grand piano.

It was during that studio time that a rap band saw me in action and wanted me to produce their rap song, "Turn Up The Volume". I'm not a fan of rap, but I got paid $250 to spend 6 hours in the studio laying down tracks and a bass line for their rap song. It's so cliche' 80's, complete with references to cassettes and boom boxes. Eminem wasn't on the scene yet to explode this genre.

One of my good friends in college, Anita Ferrer, wrote and recorded this great song, Ring the Bell. I've included a few covers of this song below. I just love the jazz guitar riffs.
